The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) has taken a major step to modernize tax education by inaugurating a Curriculum Review Committee at the NRS Academy in Durumi. The initiative aims to align academic training in taxation with the evolving needs of modern tax administration.
Led by Mr. Adeolu Akinyemi, Director of the NRS Academy, the committee will review existing taxation curricula across Nigerian institutions, integrating contemporary policies, digital taxation, and global best practices. The goal is to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical tax administration, equipping graduates with skills to support national revenue growth.
The committee includes taxation academics, policy experts, and professionals in tax administration. Collaborating with regulatory bodies and professional institutions, they are expected to complete the review within 60 days, setting the stage for a new generation of skilled and compliant tax professionals in Nigeria.
