Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the distribution of official vehicles to Level 17 officers in the Lagos State Public Service as part of efforts to enhance operational efficiency across government institutions.
The initiative targets senior directors working within Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), recognising their strategic role in policy execution and service delivery.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the governor emphasised that providing adequate tools for top-level administrators is essential to improving governance outcomes. He noted that directors are central to how government programmes are implemented and results delivered.
The newly assigned vehicles are expected to support their day-to-day responsibilities by improving mobility, enabling faster response to official duties, and strengthening coordination across agencies.
Sanwo-Olu also highlighted the importance of motivation in driving performance within the public sector, stating that well-equipped personnel are more likely to remain committed and productive in their roles.
According to him, investing in the welfare and capacity of public servants contributes directly to accountability and efficiency in governance.
The move forms part of broader reforms by the Lagos State Government aimed at strengthening institutional performance, improving service delivery, and reinforcing professionalism within the public service.
