The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its counter-terrorism campaign with a precision air strike targeting insurgent strongholds in the Mandara Mountains, a rugged region along Nigeria’s border with Cameroon.
The operation, conducted under Operation HADIN KAI, focused on terrorist enclaves in Guduf, a location identified as a strategic hideout used for coordinating attacks and storing logistics.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, confirmed that the strike was executed on April 27, 2026, following credible intelligence supported by detailed surveillance findings.
According to Ejodame, the mission was driven by Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) reports which uncovered clusters of terrorist infrastructure actively sustaining insurgent operations in the mountainous terrain.
He explained that NAF air assets carried out a coordinated assault on multiple targets, successfully identifying and striking logistics hubs and fortified structures linked to the террорист network.
“The operation was executed with precision, in strict adherence to established rules of engagement, with due consideration for civilian safety and environmental protection,” he said.
Military sources indicated that the strike significantly disrupted the operational capacity of the террорист group, destroying critical supply routes and safe havens within the enclave.
The Mandara Mountains, spanning parts of Adamawa and Borno states, have long served as a difficult-to-access sanctuary for insurgents due to their complex terrain and proximity to international borders.
The latest offensive underscores the Air Force’s evolving strategy of intelligence-led strikes aimed at dismantling terrorist infrastructure while limiting collateral damage.
NAF reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on insurgent groups, emphasizing that such operations are crucial to denying terrorists freedom of movement and restoring stability across the North-East region.
