The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reinforced its readiness for its forthcoming National Convention and the 2027 general elections, staging a symbolic environmental awareness walk in Abuja.

The “Go Green” initiative, organised by the party’s Environment and Sanitation Sub-committee, brought together senior party figures in a coordinated show of organisational strength ahead of the weekend’s convention.

Leading the exercise, Chairman of the Central Coordination Committee for the 2026 Convention, Aminu Masari, described the “Cleaner and Safer Environment Walk” as a clear demonstration of the party’s preparedness for both immediate and future political engagements.

Masari acknowledged that minor logistical challenges had emerged in the course of planning but assured that such issues are being effectively managed, maintaining that the party remains firmly on course to deliver a successful convention.

Also speaking, co-chairman of the Environment and Sanitation Sub-committee and former Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, said the initiative reflects the APC’s capacity to organise a seamless and well-coordinated national event.

He noted that the party is repositioning itself with a renewed governance focus, expressing confidence in the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu. According to him, ongoing reforms under the current administration are expected to yield measurable benefits for Nigerians over time.

In a similar vein, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, said the exercise aligns the party with global priorities such as environmental sustainability, while reinforcing internal cohesion ahead of the convention.

Dogara urged Nigerians to remain patient, noting that the full impact of ongoing reforms may take time to materialise but would ultimately produce positive outcomes.

Secretary of the sub-committee, Uche Ekwunife, commended the strong participation at the event, describing it as a reflection of unity and shared commitment within the party.

The APC maintained that the environmental walk not only underscores its preparedness for the National Convention but also signals its broader political ambition as it positions for the 2027 general elections.
