The conflict in the Middle East has entered a more dangerous phase as Israel launched a new wave of coordinated airstrikes on both Iran’s capital and Lebanon’s capital, widening the scope of the war across multiple fronts.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed late Friday that it carried out more than 70 strikes across western and central Iran within 24 hours, targeting ballistic missile launch sites and unmanned aerial vehicle infrastructure.

Among the key targets was Tehran, where explosions were reported as Israeli forces intensified efforts to weaken Iran’s military capabilities.

In a significant escalation, Israel also announced fresh strikes on Beirut, opening another front in the conflict and raising fears of a broader regional war.

The simultaneous attacks underline a strategic shift by Israel toward a multi-theatre offensive, aimed at countering threats from both Iran and its regional allies.

The latest strikes come as Israel reported multiple waves of missile barrages launched from Iranian territory throughout the day, further escalating hostilities between the two nations.

Military analysts say the pace and scale of the attacks signal an expansion of the conflict beyond isolated engagements, with increasing risks of sustained regional instability.

The developments also coincide with ongoing search-and-rescue efforts following the reported downing of a US fighter jet in southern Iran, adding another layer of tension to an already volatile situation.

With airstrikes now hitting both Tehran and Beirut and missile exchanges intensifying, fears are mounting that the conflict could spiral into a prolonged and far-reaching war across the Middle East.
