The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration process through the enforcement of its “No View, No Pay” policy for accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.
Under the policy, CBT centres are only paid after the Board verifies that the candidates they registered are properly captured and visible within JAMB’s registration system.
According to the Board, the measure was introduced to prevent registration irregularities and ensure that candidates are not subjected to unauthorised charges during the process.
JAMB explained that it collects a N700 registration service charge on behalf of CBT centres alongside the UTME ePIN fee and later remits the funds directly to accredited centres.
The Board disclosed that more than N1.57 billion has so far been remitted to centres that participated in the 2026 UTME registration exercise.
Officials say the arrangement has helped eliminate the practice where candidates were previously compelled to make additional payments at registration centres.
By centralising the payment system, the Board said candidates can now complete their registration at any accredited CBT centre nationwide without paying extra charges outside the official registration fees.
The Board noted that the initiative has also strengthened the adoption of a cashless registration process across many centres, particularly those privately operated.
Meanwhile, the registration for the 2026 UTME concluded on February 28, while the examination is scheduled to take place across the country from April 16 to April 25.
JAMB also confirmed that registration for the Direct Entry programme commenced on March 2 and will run until April 25, giving prospective candidates seeking admission into higher institutions additional time to complete their applications.
