The Federal Government has emphasised that the success of Nigeria’s ongoing tax reforms will be measured by their impact on fairness and inclusive economic growth, rather than the volume of revenue generated.
Speaking in Abuja, Taiwo Oyedele, Minister of State for Finance and Chairman of the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reform Committee, stated that the reforms are designed to create equal opportunities across different segments of society.
He made the remarks during the launch of a policy guide focused on promoting gender equality and social inclusion.
The event, organised by the Policy Innovation Centre, convened key stakeholders including government officials, development partners, private sector leaders, and civil society groups.
Participants explored the direction of the 2026 tax reforms, with discussions centred on how fiscal policies can better support women, young people, and persons living with disabilities, while strengthening inclusive economic participation nationwide.
