The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced that the completed FCT Bus and Taxi Terminals in Mabushi and Kugbo will begin operations soon, following the approval of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

Wike made the disclosure on Friday while inspecting ongoing projects in Abuja, including the Mabushi Bus Terminal Road, which provides access to the terminal.

He expressed satisfaction that President Bola Tinubu and the FEC had approved the management of the two terminals under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement.

“Although the bus terminals were completed and inaugurated in 2025, they could not commence operations because the management required FEC approval,” Wike explained.

“We had to get clearance from the FEC, and now the management team is putting the necessary processes in place. I am happy that, after this long wait, operations will start in the next one to three weeks,” he added.

On the ongoing projects, Wike commended the pace and quality of work at the Mabushi Bus Terminal Road, noting that the road would be inaugurated to mark President Tinubu’s third anniversary in office.

He also praised the quality delivery of Arterial Road N1, from Wuye District to Ring Road II, expressing optimism that it would be completed and handed over before the end of the year.

Wike reiterated that residents of the FCT deserve top-notch infrastructure, assuring that the government is committed to delivering projects that meet high standards.
