Watford’s instability has taken another dramatic turn after the club dismissed head coach Ed Still on Sunday, less than three months into his tenure, following a disappointing end to their Championship campaign.
The 35-year-old manager managed just three wins in 15 matches, with the team slipping into poor form at a crucial stage of the season. A run of five consecutive defeats ultimately sealed his fate, as Watford finished a disappointing 16th on the table.
In an official statement released by the club, Watford confirmed the decision, saying they had “parted company” with Still. First-team coach Karim Belhocine was also relieved of his duties, marking yet another backroom shake-up.
The club’s season has been anything but stable. It began under Paulo Pezzolano before he was replaced in October by Javi Gracia, who returned for a second spell. However, Gracia stepped down in February, paving the way for Still’s short-lived appointment.
This latest sacking highlights Watford’s ongoing managerial turmoil. The club is now searching for its 24th permanent head coach since 2012 a staggering statistic that reflects years of inconsistency and uncertainty behind the scenes.
With fans growing increasingly frustrated and the club struggling to find direction, attention now turns to who will take charge next and whether Watford can finally find stability before the next campaign begins.
